KICE: Arabic House

KICE is a Chicago-based DJ and producer making Arabic House, and the founder of Sirocco Sessions and Treblemonsters.

DJ and producer from Chicago

Born in Chicago and raised partly in Amman, Jordan, KICE has been DJing since 2007, including an eight-year residency at Sound-Bar Chicago. His debut album, Something Real, reached #4 on Beatport’s Dance/Electro-Pop chart, and “Let’s Move On” reached the Top 20 on iTunes Dance and the Top 100 on Apple Music House.

His recent releases are Arabic-language club records: “Al Ain” with Kazdoura, a rework of a Samira Tawfiq classic, plus “Inta Habibi”, “Yalla Dance”, “Baddi Shoufak”, “3eesh Ma3aya” and “Nasini”. In the studio he layers recorded oud, nay and qanun over house grooves, a process Native Instruments has featured on its blog.

Finding no room in the US that would book this sound, he built one: Sirocco Sessions. He was named one of USA Today’s Top 10 up-and-coming entrepreneurs and to LA Weekly’s 40 Under 40, and spoke on a panel about AI in music at IMS Dubai.
